Bangkok to Pattaya bus fares by terminal

Roong Reuang Coach publishes one fare per departure point. From Ekkamai Bus Terminal the fare is 148 THB per seat. From Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal it is 158 THB per seat. The operator also lists a Bangna pick-up point at 148 THB per seat. All of them run to Pattaya Bus Terminal on North Pattaya Road, and the published journey time is about 2 hours, although Bangkok traffic often makes it longer.

Why Ekkamai and Mo Chit cost different amounts

The 10 THB difference reflects the distance from each terminal to the motorway, not a difference in comfort or service. Mo Chit 2 sits in northern Bangkok and the bus covers more ground before reaching the highway, so the fare is slightly higher. Choose the terminal that is easier to reach from your hotel, because the transfer across Bangkok will cost far more than the 10 THB you save.

Airport bus fares are separate

Airport services are priced independently of the city terminals. Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya Bus Terminal is 130 THB per seat, boarding on Level 1 near Gate 8. The operator also runs an hourly Suvarnabhumi to Jomtien service at 151 THB per seat, which is a different route with a different arrival point. From Don Mueang Airport the official airport page lists 155 THB per person to Pattaya.

Return fares from Pattaya

Coming back, the fare depends on which Bangkok terminal you arrive at rather than where you board. Pattaya to Ekkamai is 148 THB per seat and Pattaya to Mo Chit 2 is 158 THB per seat, the same prices as the outbound direction. Pattaya to Don Mueang Airport is the one route without an official published fare; secondary booking sources show 167-183 THB per person, so confirm the current price at the counter.

What the ticket price includes

The fare covers one seat on a scheduled coach with luggage stored in the hold. There is no separate baggage charge for normal travel luggage, no seat-selection fee and no booking surcharge at the counter. It does not include transport from the Pattaya bus terminal to your hotel, which is a separate songthaew, taxi or ride-hailing trip.

How to pay and what to bring

Tickets are sold at the official counter, and the operator states that tickets can only be purchased at the counter. Bring Thai baht in cash, because card acceptance varies by station and time of day. Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure, as the operator asks, and keep the ticket until you leave the bus.

How the bus fare compares with other options

At 148-158 THB the bus is by far the cheapest scheduled way between Bangkok and Pattaya. A metered taxi or private car usually costs well over 1,000 THB for the same trip. The difference buys door-to-door service, no waiting for a departure time and room for large luggage, which matters most on a late arrival, in a group or with more than a cabin bag.
