Book online or buy at the station?

Both work. The right choice depends on when you travel and how fixed your plans are.

Buy at the station - usually cheapest

Counter fares are the lowest published price (148-158 THB per seat, depending on the terminal). Best when you're flexible: midweek travel, daytime departures running every hour, and no tight connection. You pay on the spot and take the next available bus.

Book online - pay for a guaranteed seat

Online fares typically run around 30-35% higher than the counter price, in exchange for a reserved seat booked in advance. Worth it when a seat matters more than saving a little: weekends and holidays (popular departures sell out), the last bus of the day, or a fixed plan before a flight.

Either way, the timetable on this page stays the same - only the price and seat guarantee differ.

What if the bus is full?

Popular departures can sell out around weekends, holidays, and late afternoon travel. If the next bus is full, ask at the counter for the following departure and compare bookable alternatives before you move to another station.

After the last bus

After the last scheduled bus, your realistic choices are usually a taxi, private transfer, or waiting until the next morning. For airport routes, avoid relying on the final bus before a flight and compare alternatives early.

Bus vs taxi vs private transfer

The bus is usually the cheapest choice. Taxi and private transfer cost more, but they can be easier with luggage, late arrivals, or hotel-to-hotel travel. Always confirm the final price, tolls, pickup point, and luggage space before you go.

Return route

Planning the way back now can save time later. Check the return route, station notes, first and last departures, and whether your destination in Bangkok is Ekkamai, Mo Chit, Suvarnabhumi, or Don Mueang.

Station information
1

Bangkok Ekkamai Bus Terminal

Best for Central Bangkok

Tip
  • The easiest way is BTS Skytrain: take the Sukhumvit/Green Line to Ekkamai Station, use Exit 2, then walk about 50-100 m to the bus terminal.
  • BTS fares are usually about 17-65 THB depending on distance.
  • From Sukhumvit, Asok, Nana, Phrom Phong, Thong Lo, Siam or Silom, BTS is usually faster than a car in traffic; from Silom/Siam you may need one interchange.

2

Mo Chit Bus Terminal

Best for Northern Bangkok

Tip
  • Mo Chit 2 is NOT at Mo Chit BTS Station - the terminal is about 2.1-2.3 km away (roughly a 15-minute walk through Wachirabenchathat Park).
  • From BTS Mo Chit: use Exit 3 or 4, then take a short taxi or motorbike taxi (about 40-60 THB, ~5 min). Grab works well - set the pin to 'Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal'.
  • From the MRT: Kamphaeng Phet Station, Exit 1 (about 2 km). A motorbike taxi costs about 40 THB, a metered taxi about 50 THB.

North Pattaya Bus Terminal

Best for Pattaya city

Tip
  • After getting off at North Pattaya Bus Terminal, first open your hotel address in Google Maps and check whether it is in Central Pattaya, Beach Road, Naklua, Pratumnak, or Jomtien.
  • For the cheapest local option, walk to the main road and take a songthaew/baht bus: about 15 THB for short city rides and about 20 THB for longer zone-crossing rides such as Jomtien.
  • With luggage, rain, or a late arrival, use Grab/Bolt and check the live price before booking: commonly about 80-150 THB to Central Pattaya and 120-220 THB to Jomtien.
